To Opine.
To Opine: To hold and states one's opinion/s From Webster's Dictionary.
We have been hearing a lot of this lately. Since February 14, 2018, everyone is an early childhood development specialist and those who are not have and are certified to address mental illnesses, teach gun safety classes and advocate or diss teachers. There is NO middle ground, from what I hear....
I am hearing a very loud argument centered around gun control. Lock them up or let "the right" people have access. How simple minded we are. Are guns the problem? You have probably heard the analogy that without a hand, a pen cannot write. Without a mouth, a snickers bar cannot make you fat. Yes, without a hand, a gun cannot kill you.
I don't know the answer to the question I asked.
I do know that if evil wants to win, it will. Some times the wrong things happen to people. These things most call fate and destiny. I, however, don't think that fate or destiny really counts on evil to weigh in.
I am speaking from the stand point of prevention.
- We need to prevent evil from getting their hands on guns.
- We need to perform mental stability and psychoanalysis on more students that are showing us that they are hurting, but in different ways than acting our behaviorally.
- We need to communicate more. We need to have family sit down dinners are talk to one another.
- We need to stop bashing one another. Stop placing the blame on everyone else and take partial accountability for the dysfunction of the newest generation. It takes a a whole community to bring someone up right, it takes a whole community to instill the bad stuff too.
I know what the yogic standpoint is. Ahimsa: Non Harming. Do guns cause harm? YES. A resounding YES. They harm whatever they hit. Whether an assailant, an animal, whether for good or bad, guns do cause hard. The yogi's would agree with this. Words also harm. Looks can cause someone distress and harm. Letting someone continue with destructive attitudes can cause harm.
We could move forwards with the image and idea that we will not cause harm to one another intentionally. There's an idea.
- I will do what I can to be kind to my neighbor.
- I will ask someone how they are doing with genuine concern and interest, in the hopes I can brighten their day.
- I will be authentic and help people grow through the bad stuff, it's unavoidable and suppressing it will cause more suffering. We don't need any more suffering in this world.
- If I have the chance, I will make someone's day better. If I can, then I should.
You may opine on the subject. As long as you uphold ahimsa.
